Ameba’s feature film offering grows with Green Apple Entertainment deal

Wilderness adventure movie Treasure State

Canada-based children’s streaming platform Ameba has picked up 12 kids and family films from producer and distributor Green Apple Entertainment.

The deal, which covers North America, includes titles such as Treasure State, The Little Wizard: Guardian of the Magic Crystals, Harriet & Herbert’s Day at the Beach, The Adventures of Acela, JK’s House and Adventure of the Treasure Boys.

The other films included in the deal are Lost Wilderness, Guardian of the Ancient Shadow Crown, The Widow’s Might, Goonie-Boys: Curse of Mayan Coin, The Adventures of Chris Fable and Aperture Kids & the Mysterious Neighbor.

Ameba currently features more than 14,000 titles in its library, comprising over 2,700 hours of programming secured from all over the world.

“We have found that movies for young audiences are highly appealing to our family audience. Parents are eager to have new programmes to watch and new child-centric platforms to access them on,” said Tony Havelka, president and CEO of Ameba.

“Our ‘movie of the weekend’ pilot proved to be popular for us. We’ve seen substantial growth in the number of feature-length titles on our catalogue along with increased audience engagement. This results in more subscriber value and boosts royalties for providers.”
