AMC/Sundance rises in Asia

AMC/Sundance Channel Global, the international division of AMC, has made several appointments and acquisitons in the Asia Pacific region, following its US upfront.

Period drama Mr Selfridge (9×60′) has been acquired from ITV Studios Global Entertainment for broadcast on Sundance Channel in Asia, while the UK miniseries Secret State (4×60′), from All3Media International, will also air on the network in Asia.

The hires across the Asia Pacific region come as Courtney Williams is appointed to the newly created position of MD of business development and strategy, Donovan Castillo-Mohlman has been named head of programming and scheduling, while Lorraine Ou has been made marketing manager in the region.

Meanwhile, in the US, the cable channel has revealed a Breaking Bad talkshow, Talking Bad, and renewed The Talking Dead, a spin-off to drama The Walking Dead. It has also renewed Comic Book Men and Freakshow for third and second seasons, respectively.
