AMC/Sundance expands in Asia

Sundance Channel is launching in Indonesia following an agreement between its operator, AMC/Sundance Channel Global, and the country’s largest pay TV platform.

The network will debut on Indovision later this year, subtitled into Bahasa Indonesia. The channel will carry a mix of drama and factual programming from the company’s global feeds.

The deal follows the launch of AMC/Sundance’s We TV channel in Malaysia through a partnership with local media group Astro.

It continues the company’s global expansion, following recent launches in Belgium, France and the Philippines, while a roll-out across Latin America via DirecTV is scheduled for September.

The company has also made several appointments for Sundance Channel in Asia Pacific, and acquired shows including period drama Mr Selfridge (9×60’), from ITV Studios Global Entertainment, and miniseries Secret State (4×60′), from All3Media International.
