AMC Networks, NOS launch lifestyle channel

Our Kitchen, hosted by chef Maria José Sousa, is among the channel’s shows

AMC Networks International Southern Europe and Portuguese cable operator NOS are launching a lifestyle channel through their Dreamia joint venture.

Casa e Cozinha (Home & Kitchen), which launches tomorrow, will be AMC Networks’ first lifestyle channel in the Portuguese language, offering more than 300 hours of programming including original local productions.

Programming genres will span from home décor, cooking and travel to fashion, beauty and wellbeing. Original productions include Our Kitchen, hosted by chef Maria José Sousa; Cooking with You, hosted by Lúcia Ribeiro; and Personalize Your House, with local blogger Sofia Pereira.

Casa e Cozinha will also air shows produced by AMC Networks for lifestyle channels Canal Cocina and Canal Decasam, such as Julius’ 22 Minutes and A Taste of the World, as well as acquired international shows like the Scott Brothers’ My Dream House and Basic to Brilliance Kids, with Australian food stylist Donna Hay.

Casa e Cozinha will first be available through NOS before expanding its distribution via other operators in Portugal. AMC Networks and NOS’s Dreamia joint venture also owns channels Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda, Biggs and Blast.
