Amazon’s Prime Video India unveils 50-plus series, films at Mumbai event

Prime Video’s Storm features a female-led ensemble cast
Amazon-owned Prime Video has announced a slate of more than 50 multi-language series and movies out of India, headlined by Mumbai-set thriller series Storm and including a new version of The Traitors.
Created and directed by Ajitpal Singh, Storm is produced by Hrithik and Eshaan Roshan under their banner HRX Films, a division of FilmKraft Productions.
Prime Video said production of the series, which features a female-led ensemble cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Alaya F and Srishti Shrivastava, will begin soon.
The story follows five women drawn into a web of deception when a sustainable housing project unravels into a deadly scam.
Gaurav Gandhi, VP for Asia Pacific and MENA at Prime Video, said: “Storm brings together powerful women protagonists and a gripping story that we’re confident will resonate with audiences across the world.”
It is just one of dozens of news titles revealed at the Prime Video Presents 2026 event held in Mumbai on Thursday, where the streamer emphasised India’s continued importance to its strategy of commissioning local series that are watched outside of their domestic market.
Shilangi Mukherji, director and head of SVoD business at Prime Video India, said its Indian content is resonating globally, with over half of the most-watched top 50 non-English-language titles in 2025 coming from Prime Video India.
The slate also includes period drama Matka King, starring Vijay Varma as a cotton trader who creates a hugely popular gambling game in 1960s Mumbai. It is produced by Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat and SMR Productions.
Raakh, meanwhile, stars Sonali Bendre and Ali Fazal in a missing persons crime thriller produced by Endemol Shine India in association with BhaDiPa, while rapper King makes his acting debut in drug underworld drama Lukkhe, made by Optimystix and White Guerrilla.
Other premium scripted projects include Nikkhil Advani’s The Revolutionaries, starring Bhuvan Bam and Rohit Saraf as rebels challenging the British Raj (Emmay Entertainment), and Vansh – The Kalyug Warriors, India’s first Hindi home-grown superhero series created for streaming (a TVF production in association with Indusverse Comic).
The roster expands Prime Video India’s regional storytelling offering with launches such as the Teluga-language adaptation of the hit Hindi unscripted series The Traitors with Teja Sajja as host (Dharmatic Entertainment); Telugu drama Guvvala Cheruvu Ghat, about a feudal South Indian town ruled by bloodlines and ancestral bargains (Dream Farmers); and Tamil drama Exam, about a woman with a mysterious past who exposes high-level corruption (Wallwatcher Films).
Returning series include Farzi season two, Panchayat S5, Call Me Bae S2, Dupahiya S2, Dahaad S2 and The Traitors S2.
Mukherji said: “This slate marks Prime Video India’s new era, delivering unparalleled content diversity.
“India remains central to Prime Video’s global growth, ranking among the top territories worldwide for attracting new Prime members in 2025. Close to two-thirds of our customers watch content in more than four languages, reflecting the growing appetite for diverse storytelling.”
