Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service has commissioned Liars Club

Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service has commissioned an original French comedy format from Endemol France, part of the Banijay group.

Liars Club sees five celebrity duos use their acting skills and powers of persuasion to convince the others of their honesty, as only one duo will be telling the truth each round.

The French cast includes Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux, Freddy Gladieux and Anis Rhali, Melha Bedia and Oulaya Amara, Ahmed Sylla and Hakim Jemili, and McFly and Carlito.

James Townley, chief content officer, development at Banijay Entertainment, said: “Liars Club blends comedy, surprise and mischief into a delightful package. With a sharp and witty cast, paired with Endemol France’s expertise in delivering the next generation of superbrands, audiences can expect an unmissable series.”

Endemol France, part of Banijay France, produces unscripted series including Star Academy, which is coproduced with DMLS TV and is coming back for a third season this month; LEGO Masters, Celebrity Hunted, LOL: Last One Laughing, and Drag Race France.
