Amazon’s Freevee acquires first Filipino-language drama in The World Between Us

The World Between Us streams from this month

Amazon-owned ad-supported streaming service Freevee has picked up its first Filipino-language title, from local media company GMA International.

Romantic drama The World Between Us will begin streaming on Freevee, formerly known as IMDb TV, on June 22 in the US.

The series follows two people who grew up together and feel they are destined for one another, but others are keen on keeping them apart. It began airing on GMA Network in the Philippines last year.

The cast includes Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Tom Rodriguez, Dina Bonnevie, Sid Lucero and Jaclyn Jose. The series was directed by Dominic Zapata.

Joseph T Francia, GMA International’s first VP and head of operations, said the deal showed GMA provides the “world-class entertainment that Filipinos all over the world truly deserve.”
