Amazon unscripted chief Jenny Falkoff joins Jeff Gaspin’s team at Netflix

Amazon’s head of unscripted series Jenny Falkoff is leaving the company to take up a role at Netflix.

The exec, who played a key part in Amazon’s mega-budget reality series with MrBeast, is joining the team under Jeff Gaspin, VP of unscripted series.

Falkoff’s new job title has not yet been specified but she will be charged with finding big and bold competition formats as well as social experiment formats.

The appointment comes as Netflix continues to move towards broad-based unscripted titles, with recent green lights including Golden Ticket, a reality gameshow based on Roald Dahl’s Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and a reboot of competition series Star Search. The latter was announced last week at Netflix’s Upfront presentation in New York.

Falkoff spent just over four years with Amazon, initially as a senior unscripted executive before she was promoted to head of reality series and finally, in November, to head of unscripted series.

Before joining Amazon, she was a seasoned producer who held production roles at ITV Studios, T Group Productions, Love Productions, Critical Content, Fly on the Wall Entertainment and All3Media.
