Amazon goes to The End of Love with Tamara Tenenbaum adaptation

US tech giant Amazon has greenlit a new original comedy drama adaptation from Argentina titled El Fin De Amor (The End of Love) for its Prime Video streaming service.

Mark Burnett

Based on the novel of the same name by Tamara Tenenbaum, the series follows a woman, also called Tamara, who had a strict Orthodox Jewish upbringing in Buenos Aires before leaving her boyfriend to enter a world of rebellion and romance. Singer and actress Lali Espósito will star, with production having already begun.

Espósito and Tenenbaum are both executive producers along with Leticia Dolera, who will direct the first block of episodes, and showrunner Erika Halvorsen. Both women have first-look deals with MGM.

Argentinian prodco K&S Films is making the show on behalf of MGM International Television Productions, which launched last year. The first season will comprise 10 30-minute episodes.

“El Fin De Amor is an incredibly insightful and entertaining piece of literature and we are thrilled to be working with Lali, Tamara and Erika, who together will bring an honesty and singular vision to this exciting adaptation,” said Mark Burnett, chairman of worldwide television at MGM.
