Amazon goes daily with lifestyle show

Amazon’s first daily series Style Code Live is dedicated to fashion and beauty

Amazon has launched its first daily series in the form of Style Code Live, a 30-minute show dedicated to fashion and beauty.

The first edition premiered live online in the US last night and new episodes will stream for free every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 21.00 ET/18.00 PT at www.amazon.com/stylecodelive. A ‘best of’ episode will air on Fridays.

Viewers are only able to watch on their computers for the time being, but Amazon said that mobile viewing would be coming soon.

Aiming to bring viewers the latest trends in fashion and beauty, it features expert and celebrity guests alongside hosts Lyndsey Rodrigues, Rachel Smith and Frankie Grande.

Viewers are also able to participate as the show airs online via a live chat feature, while products available to purchase via Amazon are also presented to the viewer.

“Our customers love fashion and have wanted a place to keep up with new trends and get expert tips. We created Style Code Live for them and we are just getting started with this show,” said Munira Rahemtulla, head of Style Code Live.

It means Amazon has beat its streaming rival Netflix to the punch in launching its own daily series.

Netflix recruited US television personality and comedian Chelsea Handler to front its first original talkshow in 2014. However, the series has not yet been launched.
