Amazon feels Humans

The first season of Humans was a hit for both AMC and Channel 4

Amazon has taken exclusive streaming rights to the first season of Humans, the sci-fi drama from Channel 4 in the UK and AMC in the US.

The deal with distributor Endemol Shine International will see the 8×60′ series, produced by Endemol Shine-owned prodco Kudos, made available to Amazon Prime members in the US from next spring. 

Based on the Swedish show Real Humans, the drama is set in a parallel present and explores what happens when the lines between humans and machines are blurred.

A second season has already been commissioned by Channel 4 and AMC.

“Humans was one of this summer’s top new series and is exactly the type of smart, thought-provoking show that Prime members love,” said Brad Beale, VP of digital video content acquisition for Amazon.
