Amazon, Apple add Acorn TV in UK

London Kills is among the titles available on Acorn TV

AMC Networks has expanded the distribution of its streamer Acorn TV in the UK via deals with Amazon and Apple.

The streaming service, which launched in the UK at the end of April, is now available on Amazon Prime Video Channels and Apple TV Channels.

Acorn TV offers British and international dramas such as Queens of Mystery, Balthazar, Foyle’s War, London Kills and Keeping Faith.

Acorn Media International MD Stuart Shaw said the service’s launch in the UK had “exceeded” its expectations.

“We’re thrilled by the social media engagement of our new subscribers and viewership, particularly for our Acorn TV original series Queens of Mystery. We want to ensure Acorn TV is available on as many platforms/devices as possible,” said Shaw.

The service offers exclusive new programmes every week and is priced at £4.99 (US$6.33) per month or £49.99 per year, after a free trial.
