Amazon adds Spanish dramas, docs

Dangerous Moms centres on a group of women who accidentally cause a death

Amazon Prime Video has picked up four dramas and two documentary series from Mediaset España.

The dramas include the second season of comedy series El Pueblo, which follows a group of urbanites who flee city life in hopes of finding peace in the countryside but struggle to adapt to their new lifestyle and neighbours.

Madres, Amor y Vida revolves around a group of successful mothers whose children are all being treated in the same hospital. The series is produced by Spanish prodco Alea Media and directed by an all-female team.

Legal procedural drama Caronte sees a former police officer who was unjustly dismissed team up with colleagues new and old in his quest for justice.

S2 of comedy series El Pueblo is heading for Amazon

The final drama is Dangerous Moms, which tells the story of a group of women who are accidentally responsible for the death of a woman in their parent-teacher association. Producciones Mandarina developed the series.

Also set to be made available on Amazon Prime are culinary docuseries De la Vida al Plato, which follows actor Juan Echanove as he explores eight of Spain’s best restaurants, and sports docuseries La Familia del Baloncesto Español, which goes behind the scenes at the Spanish national basketball team.

Some of the shows have been classified as Amazon titles and are already available on the platform. The acquired content will be made available on the streamer first before being broadcast on a Mediaset España channel about six months later.
