Alpha keeps it in La Famiglia

La Famiglia is due to enter its third season in Israel

Alpha TV in Cyprus has commissioned a local version of Armoza Formats’ Israeli comedy La Famiglia.

Originally produced by United Studios of Israel, the series follows the lives of a suburban family living in the divorce capital of the country who wind up in therapy in order to cope with daily life. The 80-episode Cypriot version, produced in-house by Alpha, will air on Alpha TV from September.

In related news, Austrian prodco Interspot Film has acquired the rights to adapt a local version of La Famiglia, with its edition currently in development, while the third season of the original show is slated to begin airing later this year on Israel’s Channel 10.

In April, Indian studio Applause Entertainment acquired format rights to the comedy.
