All3Media to shop Channel 4’s version of YouTube relationship series Blue Therapy

Blue Therapy sees young couples meet with relationship coaches

All3Media International has added Blue Therapy, Channel 4’s adaptation of a hit YouTube series, to its sales slate.

C4 commissioned a linear TV version of the viral YouTube series last year and it will premiere on youth-skewing channel E4 later this year.

The couples therapy series is being produced for the commercially funded UK pubcaster by Luti Media with Trend Centrl and Motion Group. All3Media International will shop the finished tape and format rights to global buyers.

The series will explore the complex modern relationships of five young, diverse and aspirational couples rarely shown on screens. The couples meet with relationship coaches in an idyllic country house to face up to the conflicts in their partnerships surrounding topics including race and interracial relationships, class, children, careers and gender role expectations.

Told through a blend of reality and high drama, the original YouTube series averaged over two million views per episode across 15 territories, including the UK, US, Netherlands, Canada, Nigeria, Australia and South Africa.
