All3Media sells drama, factual in Spain

Baptiste sees Tchéky Karyo reprise his role from The Missing

Spanish broadcasters including Movistar+ and Atresmedia have picked up drama, factual and formatted content from UK-based distributor All3Media International.

Telefonica-owned pay broadcaster Movistar+ has bought thriller Baptiste, a Two Brothers Pictures production starring Tchéky Karyo, which debuted in the UK on BBC1 in February. The detective series is a spin-off from fellow BBC drama The Missing.

Also originally produced for BBC1, along with PBS’s Masterpiece strand in the US, Snowed-In Productions’ three-part drama Mrs Wilson has been sold to Spanish online platform Filmin. The show sees The Affair’s Ruth Wilson play her own grandmother, whose husband lived a double life.

Atresmedia, meanwhile, has commissioned a seventh season of its version of Kitchen Nightmares to broadcast on its La Sexta channel later this year. The series was originally produced by Optomen for Channel 4 in the UK, fronted by Gordon Ramsay. Albert Chicote fronts the Spanish version, which premiered in 2012.

In a new deal with Blaze, a joint venture between A+E Networks and AMC International Southern Europe, All3Media has sold Fredbird Entertainment’s Extreme Salvage Squad, which was originally produced for Seven Network Australia. Blaze has also acquired Maverick Television’s Escape, originally produced for Channel 4.

Finally, Fox-owned Canal Viajar has picked up all nine seasons of North One Television’s Travel Man: 48 Hours In…, which follows actor and director Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) as he pairs up with celebrities to embark on mini-breaks. The show is made for C4.
