All3Media promotes finance chief John Whittle to MD of Lime Pictures

All3Media has appointed John Whittle as MD of its Liverpool-based production outfit Lime Pictures.

Whittle, who was previously Lime Pictures’ finance director, will work with the company’s creative leaders, including Hannah Cheers, exec producer of Lime’s long-running Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, and the co-heads of the kids and family teams, Angelo Abela and Tim Compton, whose animated series Wolf King is coming to Netflix soon.

Whittle became finance director at Lime in 2016. Previously, he worked at NBCUniversal in senior finance roles across its theatrical and home entertainment divisions, with stints in Sydney, Stockholm and London.

He replaces Lime Pictures’ joint-MDs Kate Little and Claire Poyser, who announced last month they were stepping down.

All3Media CEO Jane Turton said: “I am delighted that John is to become the new MD of Lime and really look forward to working with him and the entire team in Liverpool to continue building on the success of Hollyoaks and the kids and family drama business and to develop new shows on the back of the current slate.”
