Producton and distribution group All3Media has set up an unscripted formats development vehicle called Seamonster, led by Mirella Breda and Sam Pollard.

Breda and Pollard are developing a range of unscripted formats including gameshows, reality competitions, dating shows and factual entertainment programmes. Formats that are sold will be coproduced by Seamonster and the group’s production companies.

Seamonster is already in paid development on a reality entertainment show for a major UK broadcaster and is also in discussions with a number of other platforms on a slate of original programmes.

Breda, MD of the new label, has developed and produced unscripted programming for two decades. She has held senior posts both in-house at the BBC and at production companies Two Rivers and Initial, and most recently was chief creative officer at Lime Pictures. Her credits include Tenable, Total Wipeout, Big Brother, Room Soccer Aid and Stars in Their Eyes.

Director of development Pollard has developed a range of formats including Release the Hounds, Who Dares Wins and BigHeads. He worked at Stellify, Gogglebox Entertainment, 12 Yard, the BBC and Shine, and with Breda at Lime Pictures.

All3Media CEO Jane Turton said: “Developing innovative new formats is a hugely valuable skill and a rare talent. We are excited to launch Seamonster, with its focus entirely on the development and sale of shows. Mirella and Sam will then work with producers across the group to translate these sales into successful series.”

Breda and Pollard said in a statement: “We are thrilled to launch our own label under the All3Media umbrella. Originating and developing innovative programmes is our first love and we are privileged to work closely with our All3Media sister companies to produce new and compelling content.”
