All3Media factual takes root in Canada

BBC horticulture special Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens

Distributor All3Media International has sold a collection of garden-themed shows into Canada, as well as a range of other factual content.

Canadian network TVO has picked up Blink Films’ factual entertainment special Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens. Made for BBC2 in the UK, the show follows the garden expert on a journey to find out how different cultures and climates have influenced garden design.

SVoD service Hortus TV has also acquired Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens, along with gardening programmes including season two of The Autistic Gardener, Big Dreams Small Spaces S3, Garden Rescue S2, Kew on a Plate, Love Your Home & Garden and Titchmarsh on Capability Brown.

Meanwhile, Knowledge Network has gone for Lion TV’s new one-hour history documentary Julius Caesar with Mary Beard (working title) for BBC1 and the seventh 5×60’ season of the BBC’s Fake or Fortune, which investigates cases of mystery, intrigue and deception in the art world.

Canal Evasion has added S4 and S5 of the French adaptation of Studio Lambert format Be My Guest, produced by Coyote for TF1, for French-speaking Canada and S1 of Nine Network’s Travel Guides (Australia), which sees six groups of ordinary Australians take on the job of travel critic.

TVA has secured The Undateables S6 and S7, produced by Betty for Channel 4 in the UK. The show follows singletons in their search for love and will air on speciality channel Moi&Cie.

Finally, Societe Radio Canada has acquired The Truth About Sleep, Lion’s one-hour special for BBC1 revealing surprising revelations about sleep.
