All roads lead to Rome for NBCUniversal Formats’ The Real Housewives franchise

The Real Housewives of Rome will debut on Discovery+

Warner Bros Discovery is taking hit global franchise The Real Housewives to the Italian capital with an adaptation produced by FTM Entertainment.

The Real Housewives of Rome, the 27th international version of the format, premieres today with two episodes streaming on Discovery+ before the full 5×60’ series is made available from May 1 on female-skewing lifestyle channel Real Time.

Following on from the success of the Naples version, The Real Housewives of Rome follows the glamourous lives of six women eager to show viewers the Eternal City as it’s never been seen before.

The participants include retired financial manager Nicoletta Ricca Benedettini, VIP doctor Anadela Serra Visconti and international artist Countess Camilla Ancilotto.

The Real Housewives franchise is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal Formats, which is part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Ana Langenberg, senior VP of formats and production at NBCUniversal Formats, said: “The Real Housewives continue to take over the globe and we are so thrilled to see these formidable and successful women show us exactly what the Italian capital has to offer.

“Partnering with FTM Entertainment and Warner Bros Discovery, this series promises to bring audiences the glamour, luxury and excitement that fans across the region will love.”
