Alchimie finds gold in Arte, ZDFE catalogues

French digital distribution firm Alchimie has partnered with Arte and ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) to set up an online channel focusing on documentary and premium factual content.

Alchimie’s Humanity channel features existing content from Franco-German network Arte and German distributor ZDFE and is designed to act as an additional revenue stream for the two companies’ libraries.

Humanity recently launched as an ad-free SVoD channel available on T-Mobile, EE, Orange, SFR and Vodafone platforms. It features hundreds of hours of programming on subjects such as the tech revolution, geopolitics, climate change, spirituality and artificial intelligence.

“Alchimie and the Humanity channel will introduce a new generation and audience to some of our best documentaries,” said Celine Payot-Lehman, head of sales at Arte.

Alchimie CEO Nicolas D’Hueppe added: “The Humanity channel’s agreements with Arte and ZDFE will not only monetise their existing programmes but also broadcast their inspirational content to a whole new European audience.”

Humanity joins a range of thematic channels curated, aggregated, packaged and distributed by Alchimie, such as children’s network Okidoki, MMA channel Fight Club and outdoor sports channel Speed & Race.
