Al Murray explores the legacy of the British Empire in factual series for Sky History

A+E Networks EMEA has commissioned factual history series Al Murray: Why Does Everyone Hate the British Empire? for its Sky History channel.

The 4×60’ series produced by London-based prodco Avalon and Motion Content Group sees comedian Al Murray travel to countries once colonised by Britain and meet local comedians to explore the impact of empire rule. In India he is joined by Anuvab Pal.

The series was commissioned and executive produced by Dan Korn, VP of programming at A+E Networks EMEA, with Diana Carter, commissioning editor and head of talent at A+E Networks EMEA.

Executive producers are Jay Taylor, Jamie Isaacs, Richard Allen Turner, Martin Oxley and Deep Sehgal.

Al Murray: Why Does Everyone Hate the British Empire? will debut in the UK on Sky History and on the History Channel across Europe this autumn, then in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2024.
