Al Jazeera, OSN, Bloomberg in the Middle East take a shot of Espresso factual

On Broadway with Ian McKellen

Al Jazeera, OSN and Bloomberg’s Asharq News have acquired more than 20 hours of documentary programming from UK-based Espresso Media International.

Espresso has licensed 15 hours of space, social and arts content in their latest package for Al Jazeera.

This includes On Broadway (1×52′), where legends of the stage and screen including Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren take viewers behind the scenes of Broadway’s most popular shows, and I Am Gen Z (1×52′), which explores how the digital revolution is impacting the first generation of ‘digital natives.’

In its first deal with UAE’s OSN, Espresso has licensed Beirut Blast: The Story of Warehouse 12 (1×90′), which explores the story of the dangerous stock of lethal ammonium nitrate that was mysteriously held in the port for seven years before exploding in 2020.

Meanwhile, Asharq News, which Bloomberg launched last year, has taken five-and-a-half hours of documentary content, including They Say It Can’t Be Done (1×52′), a science documentary tracking four companies on the cutting edge of technological solutions that could solve world hunger and mitigate climate change.
