AI-focused prodco Cordoba launches in Paris with backing from ex-BBC chief Tony Hall

A new artificial intelligence (AI)-focused media producer and coproducer is launching in Paris with backing from former BBC director general Tony Hall and co-creator of Apple’s Siri, Dr Luc Julia.
Hall and Julia are both on board Cordoba as senior advisors. The new media group says it will produce original content and partner with international production companies.
Founded by Jesse Mimeran, Audrey Tcherkoff, Dana Al Salem, Cédric Torossian and Matthieu d’Arc, Cordoba will produce original content and develop original platforms and is headquartered in Paris.
The company is partnering with film, TV and creator economy companies to develop original content for global distribution.
Working with the latest AI technologies, the group will produce series, films, non-fiction, branded content and digital experiences. It will also undertake international copros in both established and emerging markets.
Mimeran, Cordoba’s CEO, has previously worked with UNESCO, the United Nations, Canal+, France Télévisions and TF1.
Tcherkoff is chief environmental, social, governance officer, and is known for her tenures as general manager of the Women’s Forum and former president of the Positive Economy Institute. She is also the former VP of Positive Planet and a TV host for BFM Business.
Al Salem is chief development officer and a former co-founder of Yahoo Europe and Sky Italia.
Chief strategy officer Torossian spent over 15 years on Wall Street TMT as an analyst for the likes of TF1, M6, ITV and Mediaset.
Matthieu d’Arc is a special advisor to Cordoba and is a managing partner at the Shift4Good Fund and former senior executive at BCG & AT Kearney.
As well as Hall and Julia, other senior advisors include Jacques-Henri Eyraud, former president of football club Olympique de Marseille, former VP of corp communication at The Walt Disney Company and co-founder of Media 365, and Alexander Wrabetz, former CEO of ORF in Austria and president of SK Rapid Vienna.
Cordoba has announced Cordoba AI Talents, which is assembling 25 AI filmmakers from 12 countries to establish a European leader in generative AI content creation.
The group is also unveiling Cordoba Trackflow, its first platform designed to align AI and content creation by providing end-to-end production solutions. Details about its model, staff and original content will be released in the coming months.
