AGC moves Austin to LA

US prodco AGC Television has hired a former Discovery Studios and ITV America executive as its first VP of unscripted television.

Brad Austin

Brad Austin is moving to the LA-based TV production division of Stuart Ford’s independent content studio AGC Studios.

He will oversee the company’s development and production of unscripted television content and work with AGC Television president Lourdes Diaz to produce a slate of original formats and character-based docuseries.

Austin was most recently with Discovery Studios- and ITV America-owned Sirens Media where he built unscripted development slates. Prior to that he was VP of development at Naked & Afraid producer Renegade 83 and oversaw development at 10×10 Entertainment (America’s Next Top Model).

Ford, founder of IM Global, set up content production, financing and distribution studio AGC last year after leaving his role as CEO of the US producer and distributor towards the end of 2017.

The announcement was made by Diaz, who Ford hired to run the firm in July last year.

Since launching the firm, Ford has announced several feature film and TV projects as well as staffing up with the hire of Diaz, president of film Greg Shapiro, president of worldwide distribution Michael Rothstein and VP of scripted TV Matt Bankston.

The company has an overall deal with former NBC Universal Television Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin of Gaspin Media.
