AETN poaches Carsey-Werner exec

AETN International has hired a Carsey-Werner Distribution sales director to head its own sales efforts in Central and Eastern Europe.

Jo Lovell, who oversaw CEE, CIS, Scandinavia, Israel, Greece and Cyprus for US-based Carsey-Werner, takes up the newly created position of director of AETN International’s content sales for Europe.

Her Carsey-Werner sales credits include That ’70s Show, The Cosby Show and Third Rock From the Sun. Prior to her time at the company, Lovell was a sales executive at Fremantle International Distribution.

Based in London, she reports to senior director of EMEA content sales Jonathan South.

Lovell is the latest in a string of new appointment at the global distribution arm of US cable group A&E Television Networks, some of which followed the appointment of new Europe MD Dean Possenniskie last year.

The company earlier this month brought former Target senior VP of sales and programming Ellen Lovejoy on board, reuniting her with ex-Target MD Ian Jones, whom it hired at the end of last year. Around the same time, the company also installed Liz Higgins as director of strategy and business development for Europe.
