A+E ups two sales execs

A+E Networks has made two promotions at its international sales arm, as it weighs the succession plan for the unit’s MD following confirmation yesterday of his departure.

Jonathan South has been upped to VP of content sales for EMEA and Ling-Sze Gan to senior director of content sales for Asia.

Based in London, South reports to A+E Newtorks Europe MD Dean Possenniskie and, for the time being, A+E Networks International MD Ian Jones. Confirmation came yesterday that Jones will be the new CEO of Welsh-language pubcaster S4C but won’t take up the post till April 22.

South manages the EMEA sales team while working to grow A+E in key European territories. Gan, based in Singapore, oversees content distribution throughout Asia to both standard and non-standard television. She also reports to Jones and A+E Networks Asia Pacific MD Alan Hodges.

The promotions are not related to the departure of Jones, an A+E spokeswoman told C21, adding that the company had no further comment to make at this time in relations to his departure.

“Jonathan has been a driving force in our international program sales business, delivering successive years of double digit growth, and opening new doors for us throughout EMEA,” said Sean Cohan, senior VP, international at A+E, in a statementent. “Ling Sze has been an important player in the expansion and visibility of A+E Networks’ programmes and brands in Asia, forging new partnerships in previously untapped territories.”
