A+E, UKTV take Corus titles

Salvage Kings has been picked up by A+E Networks

Foxtel, A+E and UKTV are among broadcasters around the world to have secured titles from Canadian outlet Corus Studios following a raft of global sales ahead of Mipcom.

US-based A+E Networks has acquired rights to unscripted series Salvage Kings (10×60’) for a number of its territories, including the UK and Ireland, Sweden, South Africa, Poland and Romania. Additionally, A+E’s FYI in the US, A+E Networks in Italy, and Foxtel in Australia have picked up truck racing docuseries Big Rig Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Cooking Channel in the US and A+E Networks in the UK have picked up grilling competition series Fire Masters (20×60’), while Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand and Historia in Spain and Portugal have both acquired History Erased (8×60’).

Home-renovation series Island of Bryan (13×60’) has also been bagged by Australia’s Foxtel, TVA’s Group Channel CASA in French Canada and Israel’s Talit Communications.

Additionally, A+E’s FYI in the US and South Africa’s The Home Channel have picked up cash-conscious renovation series $ave my Reno. Fellow renovation series Masters of Flip has also travelled extensively, being picked up by Discovery in Germany, ITVBe in the UK and Brazil’s Globosat.

French broadcaster M6 has gained the rights to the first two seasons of Backyard Builds, while UKTV and Australia’s Foxtel have acquired Buying the View and the third season of Home to Win, respectively.

Lifestyle content has also been sold, with Discovery Latin America and A+E Networks Lifetime in Africa picking up fashion series Stitched.

In addition, food-focused travelogue shows Bakers Sisters and Big Food Bucket List have been sold to an undisclosed buyer in Asia.

Corus Studios’ slate of original content for Mipcom includes newly greenlit series The Big Bake, Great Chocolate Showdown, Junior Chef Showdown, Scott’s Vacation House Rules and Farmhouse Facelift. Worldwide sales are handled by Rita Carbone-Fleury.
