A&E to air Fawcett, JFK Jr biographies

US cablenet A&E will air two biographical documentaries in July to mark the anniversaries of the deaths of actress Farrah Fawcett and John F Kennedy Jr, the son of president John F Kennedy.

Farrah Fawcett

Biography: Farrah Fawcett Forever will air on July 9, while Biography: JFK Jr – The Final Year will air on July 16. Both docs will run for two hours and include never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews.

Biography: Farrah Fawcett Forever comes 10 years after the actress lost her battle with cancer, aged 62. The documentary features new interviews with actresses Alana Stewart, Cicely Tyson and Jaclyn Smith, producer Suzanne de Passe, actor and filmmaker Robert Duvall and former actress and film studio executive Sherry Lansing.

It also includes never-before-seen family photographs and footage of Fawcett’s art project with sculptor Keith Edmier and intimate film footage of her cancer battle.

The documentary is produced for A&E by A&E Originals, with Steve Ascher, Kristy Sabat, Mary Whartin, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson exec producing.

Biography: JFK Jr – The Final Year marks 20 years since the lawyer and journalist died in a plane crash aged 38.

Inspired by Steven M Gillon’s upcoming book America’s Reluctant Prince: The Life of John F Kennedy Jr, the documentary includes new evidence regarding JFK Jr’s political aspirations before his death and focuses on the last year of his life as he coped with the fatal illness of his friend and cousin Anthony Radziwill, struggled to save his marriage and tried to rescue his political magazine, George.

It features interviews with Radziwill’s widow Carole, former US president Bill Clinton, former George publisher David Pecker, friend Gary Ginsberg, former assistant and friend RoseMarie Terenzio and childhood friend Sasha Chermayeff, as well as unseen footage of JFK Jr rehearsing for his speech at the 1988 Democratic National Convention and stories and photos from his wedding.

The documentary is produced for A&E by Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company. Exec producers are Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman, John Marks, Frontain Bryant and Abramson.
