A+E promotes four in reshuffle

Global channels operator A+E Networks has made four management changes across several of its US networks.

Elaine Frontain Bryant has been promoted to senior VP of development and programming at History channel, while Paul Cabana has been named as H2’s new senior VP and head of programming.

Mary Donahue becomes senior VP of non-fiction programming at Lifetime and Gena McCarthy has been appointed senior VP of programming at Bio.

Frontain Bryant, who has been with A+E since 2005, was most recently overseeing shows such as Duck Dynasty in her role as senior VP of non-fiction and alternative programming. She will report into History’s exec VP Dirk Hoogstra.

Cabana has led H2 for the past 18 months, overseeing shows including The Men Who Built America and Mankind: The Story of All of Us. He was previously senior exec producer at History and will also report to Hoogstra.

Donahue will move to Lifetime after most recently working as VP of programming and development at History. She originally joined the channel in 2008, working on shows including Pawn Stars and Swamp People, and will report into senior VP and head of development Eli Lehrer.

McCarthy’s move to Bio follows a stint as senior VP of non-fiction programming at Lifetime, where she oversaw unscripted shows including Project Runway All-Stars and Dance Moms. She will report to Jana Bennett, who took over as president of Bio in June.

All the appointments are effective from September 3.
