A+E Networks UK orders Ross Kemp shipwreck series for Sky History

A+E Networks UK has commissioned Honey Bee and fellow UK indie Freshwater Films to coproduce a Ross Kemp-fronted four-part factual entertainment series with WPP-owned Motion Content Group.

Ross Kemp: Shipwreck Treasure Hunter (w/t) is being made for A+E-Sky joint-venture net Sky History, by the same people behind Kemp’s recent ITV series Britain’s Tiger Kings.

Set to premiere next spring, the show marks a personal journey for Kemp as his grandfather was sunk three times in the Second World War and survived. His grandfather’s cousins served and died on HMS Hood during the war.

For the series, Kemp will be joined by expert diver Emily Turton and maritime archaeologist Mallory Haas on expeditions to the most spectacular shipwrecks in the UK, uncovering hidden treasures and history from Britain’s past.

Dan Korn, VP of programming at A+E Networks UK, executive produces the series with Diana Carter, A+E’s commissioning editor and head of talent.
