Phoenix Television develops longform versions of A+E Networks EMEA shows

The Ex-Con Carpenters help former prisoners design and create pieces of carpentry

UK-based unscripted indie Phoenix Television has developed two longform true crime formats based on original ideas from A+E Networks EMEA.

Cut to the Crime, in which a hairdresser turns his stylist’s chair into a confessional, has so far had two 10-part shortform series on Crime + Investigation and YouTube.

Also on Crime + Investigation, Ex-Con Carpenters (5×8’) centres on a father-and-son woodworking team who help former prisoners design and create a meaningful piece of carpentry for someone who has been hurt by their crimes.

The longform version of Ex-Con Carpenters, called Justice: Restore & Rebuild, is a half-hour format pilot that brings former convicts and victims of crime together in a “restorative justice environment designed to positively impact victims’ lives.”
