A+E Global Media Group and Arré Studio decide they need to spend some time Alone

A+E Global Media Group and Arré Studio are bringing Alone to India

Producer-distributor and channels operator A+E Global Media Group is to partner with India’s Arré Studio to bring hit survival format Alone to India for the first time.

The series, which first premiered on A+E’s The History Channel US in 2015, sees contestants dropped one by one into the wilderness, where each must survive by themselves, using their wits and mental resilience.

The format has already been adapted in Denmark and Australia, with three new European versions to be announced shortly.

Now A+E Media Group, a joint venture between Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst, and Arré Studio, the content arm of media-tech company Arre, will develop a local language version for the Indian market.

Namit Sharma, CEO Arré Studio, said: “Alone is an incredible, ambitious format, gripping audiences the world over. We’re excited to be bringing it to India.

“Our audience loves captive reality shows and Alone is a uniquely dramatic and challenging format. This partnership with A+E is a mark of Arré’s commitment to bringing the best international scripted and unscripted formats to our clients and audience.”

Amreet Chahal, content sales director, A+E Media Group, Asia-Pacific, said: “Alone is an awe-inspiring test of the power of human spirit, set in stunning unspoiled wilderness. We can’t wait to bring this to an Asian territory for the very first time.”
