A+E Networks UK has commissioned a spin-off from Lost Relics of the Knights Templar for its History Channel in parts of Europe.

Lost Relic Hunters will air in the UK, where History Channel is known as Sky History, from September 6, in the Netherlands and Belgium from September 16 and in the Nordics from September 21.

Produced by LA- and London-based Fired Up Films and UK financier Krempelwood, it will once again follow the work of one of the world’s most prolific collectors of antiquities, Hamilton White, and his long-time friend and business partner Carl Cookson.

Lost Relics of the Knights Templar rated more than 300% above primetime average, making it the best-performing UK commission on Sky History since Al Murray: Why Does Everyone Hate the English? in 2018, according to A+E Networks UK, a joint venture between Hearst and Sky.

It followed White and Cookson as they travelled through Europe and the Middle East to find treasures belonging to the Knights Templar that nobody had previously been able to uncover.

The spin-off sees White and Cookson joined by cultural and art historian Dr Janina Ramirez as they journey to locations including Venice, Istanbul, Barcelona, Jerusalem and the Pyrenees, in their quest to authenticate the rare and precious antiquities from White’s collection.

Lost Relic Hunters is commissioned and executive produced by Dan Korn, VP of programming at A+E Networks UK, alongside Diana Carter, commissioning editor and head of talent at A+E Networks UK.

Dominic Ozanne is series producer for Fired Up Films, with Jon-Barrie Waddell exec producing. Tara Long exec produces for eOne, which distributes the series. Mark Wood and Blair Krempel exec produce for Krempelwood.
