A+E appoints for Asian channels

A+E Networks has appointed two senior executives to bolster its Asian channels business.

Brad Cox joins the channel operator as senior director of content for lifestyle and entertainment channels while Thomas Tan becomes creative director.

Cox will oversee scheduling and acquisitions for Lifetime and FYI, reporting to Michele Schofield, senior VP of programming and production.

Previously, he held senior programming positions at Indonesian broadcaster Active TV and Australia- and Singapore-based production outfit ANTV. He held various production roles on programmes such as The Amazing Race Australia, Cash Cab Asia and Asia’s Next Top Model.

Meanwhile, Tan will report to Hazel Yap, VP of marketing communications, and will supervise on-air branding and creative for A+E Networks Asia’s factual and entertainment channels.

Prior to joining the company, Tan was an author and creative consultant for various channels, focusing on launch strategy, on-air promotions and branding. His career included a stint as head of creative services for HBO Asia.

Earlier this week A+E secured a raft of programme sales to Asian broadcasters including a crime package including Cajun Justice, Deadly Wives and Mobsters to Dox TV Platform in China, and reality series such as Dance Moms to NTV7 in Malaysia.
