Acorn TV to showcase drama on STV Player

NEWS BRIEF: UK AVoD service STV Player is set to showcase original drama commissions from SVoD Acorn TV free to air as part of a new partnership with the AMC Networks-owned streamer.

AMC launched Acorn TV as a subscription-based service in the UK in 2020 and will now use STV Player to promote its original content to a free-to-air audience. Three Acorn TV dramas will be launched on STV Player this week to start the partnership: psychological mystery Blood starring Line of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar; New Zealand-set The Sounds; and gritty international thriller Straight Forward.
