ABC ups Morewitz for drama

ABC Entertainment Group in the US has reshuffled its scripted department by promoting one of its development execs to oversee drama.

Brian Morewitz becomes senior VP of drama development at ABC Entertainment, replacing Channing Dungey after she was named president last month.

Morewitz, previously VP of drama development, will oversee the development and production of all drama pilots and the launch of new series.

He has previously worked on shows including Quantico, Castle, Nashville and Revenge and continues to report to Dungey in his new role.

Dungey replaced Paul Lee in February after he resigned amid low ratings for the US broadcast network.
