ABC, PBS and ITV Studios warm to Ages of Ice from Australia’s Northern Pictures

Ages of Ice will debut on ABC TV and ABC iview next year

Australia’s ABC and PBS in the US have co-commissioned Ages of Ice, a three-part natural history series produced by Sydney-based Northern Pictures.

Production is underway on the project, which is being made in association with and distributed internationally by ITV Studios.

It follows scientists pushing the boundaries of exploration in Earth’s coldest corners to understand the changes of ice and what this means for our planet’s future.

Ages of Ice, directed and executive produced by Karina Holden, is set to premiere on ABC TV and ABC iview in 2026. Producers on the project include Judith Curran and Nicola Sullivan.

The production received a significant investment from Screen Australia in association with Screen NSW, with post, digital and visual effects being supported by Screen NSW.
