ABC News orders civil rights movement docuseries from Jay-Z and Will Smith

Disney-owned ABC News in the US has greenlit a docuseries about the events that sparked the civil rights movement from Jay-Z and Will Smith.

Let The World See is produced by Smith’s US production outfit Westbrook Studios, the television division of Jay-Z’s firm Roc Nation, Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Cobble Hill Films.

Jeanmarie Condon and Fatima Curry are directing the three-parter, with Jay-Z, Tyran Smith and Jay Brown serving as executive producers for Roc Nation. Smith is executive producing for Westbrook Studios, Kaplan is executive producer for Kapital Entertainment and James Lassiter also serves as executive producer.

Let The World See follows the life of activist Mamie Till-Mobley and will be broadcast following new episodes of ABC’s drama Women of the Movement in January. Women of the Movement is also produced by Roc Nation, Westbrook Studios and Kapital Entertainment and is based on Till-Mobley.
