ABC police procedural The Rookie has been renewed for a seventh series

NEWS BRIEF: Disney-owned US broadcaster network ABC has renewed cop drama The Rookie for a seventh season.

Season six premiered in February, starring Nathan Fillion, Mekia Cox and Alyssa Diaz. Alexi Hawley is creator and executive producer and the series is produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.
