360 Powwow, Sinapsis Producción to adapt book on Argentina’s José López Rega

CONTENT AMERICAS: Florida-based 360 Powwow and Sinapsis Producción of Buenos Aires have teamed up to acquire the adaptation rights to a book looking at the controversial Argentinian politician, police officer and writer José López Rega.

López Rega, Peronism & the Triple A by Marcelo Larraquy was first published in 2004 in Argentina and in 2019 in Spain. Its TV adaptation, written by Yosi the Regretful Spy scribes Andrés Gelós and Natacha Caravia, will combine fiction and documentary.

Known as El Brujo (The Wizard) by his political opponents, López Rega became a figure of great influence in Argentina due to his proximity to dictator General Juan Perón. “López Rega was a dark and intriguing character who became the most powerful man in Argentina,” said the producers.

“It will be an action suspense thriller. It will show the climate of violence, alliances, persecutions, bombings and other mechanisms of parapolice terror. It will also delve into the mind of this criminal.”
