20th Century names creative chief

US production outfit 20th Century Fox Television has shuffled its management pack with the promotion of one of its execs to head the firm’s creative department.

Jonathan Davis, who was previously exec VP of comedy development and animation, will take up the newly created role of president of creative affairs.

His new remit includes overseeing the development of comedy and drama shows, as well as responsibility for animated programming and current series.

Davis will report to 20th Century co-chairmen and co-CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman, with part of his previous role taken up by Michael Thorn, who becomes exec VP of development.

Thorn, who was most recently senior VP of drama development, will now also oversee comedy programming. He will report to Davis, who has been at 20th Century for six years having joined as senior VP of comedy development n 2008.
