New specials from Sesame Workshop

Stateside children's TV producer Sesame Workshop is set to unveil a series of Sesame Street Family Specials at this year's MIPCOM.

The Sesame Street Family Specials (13×30'), an extension of their children's TV series Sesame Street, have previously only been available in a home video format in the US. They have now been repackaged and formatted for television, with between two and five new titles to be added every year.

Sesame Street's muppet characters – such as Big Bird and Bert & Ernie – will continue to feature in the Family Specials, which will be available to international buyers for the first time this year.

{The Family Specials are an extension of the Sesame Street brand and would be ideal for the holidays and family occasions where parents can interact with their children with song, dance, and humour,{ said Jennifer Chrein, the Workshop's vice president of global television distribution.
