New CEO for MBC in Middle East

Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC Group has appointed Marc Antoine d’Halluin as CEO, replacing Sam Barnett who announced his resignation in October.

D’Halluin will take over as head of the company on January 5, after having most recently fulfilled the role of chairman of Luxembourg-based M7 Group from 2016 to 2019.

Prior to that, d’Halluin was CEO of Zodiak Media Group, before which he co-founded Rubis Media Partners in 2011.

He also previously worked as president and CEO of Showtime Arabia and Orbit Showtime Network, CEO of C More Entertainment – Canal+ Nordic and managing director of Fox Kids Europe. The exec started his career at Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1995.

Barnett has worked at MBC Group for 17 years and will continue to have an advisory role once d’Halluin takes over in January.
