Netflix returns to Narcos: Mexico

Netflix has ordered a second season of Narcos: Mexico, its drama that explores the roots of the modern drug business.

The show is produced by Gaumont Television and will continue the story of the organised drug trade in Mexico during the 1980s and 1990s.

Eric Newman, who signed a multi-year deal with Netflix earlier this year, is attached as showrunner and exec producer, alongside José Padilha, Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard.

The show follows on from Netflix’s original Narcos drama, which tracked the life and death of Colombian drug baron Pablo Escobar.
