Netflix lines up Ginny & Georgia

Streaming giant Netflix has ordered a coming-of-age series about a young mother and her teenage daughter.

Ginny & Georgia (10×60′) tells the story of 15-year-old Ginny and her 30-year-old mother Georgia, who after years on the run attempt to settle down in New England and start a normal life.

Newcomer Antonia Gentry plays Ginny, while Brianne Howy (The Passage) has been cast as Georgia. The series comes from writer-creator Sarah Lampert and is produced by Dynamic Television, Madica Productions and Critical Content.

Debra J Fisher (Alias, Criminal Minds, Being Mary Jane) will serve as showrunner and exec producer, with Anya Adams (Black-ish), Jeff Tahler, Jenny Daly, Holly Hines and Daniel March also exec producing. Elena Blekhter is co-exec producing and Adams will direct the first two episodes.

Ginny & Georgia is slated to launch on Netflix next year, with production currently underway in Toronto.
