Netflix doubles down on Queer Eye

Netflix revived Queer Eye early last year

Global streamer Netflix has extended its hit reality format Queer Eye with a two-season order.

The show sees five gay men take charge of a makeover in areas such as food and wine, culture, grooming, fashion and interior design.

Netflix revived the format in February last year, 11 years after the end of its five-season run on US cablenet Bravo as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

The Kansas City-set fourth season will land on the SVoD service in July, with the fifth run, taking place in Philadelphia, due to go into production next week and launch in 2020. The show is produced by Scout Productions in association with ITV America division ITV Entertainment.

David Collins and Michael Williams, creators of Queer Eye, exec produce for Scout Productions alongside Rob Eric. David George, Adam Sher, David Eilenberg and Jordana Hochman serve as exec producers for ITV Entertainment.
