Nerdist bolsters management

US multiplatform producer Nerdist Industries has hired a former Universal Studios exec as president and a Comedy Central and CBS veteran as head of development.

Adam Rymer arrives from Lava Bear Films, where he was chief operating officer and chief financial officer, as well as exec-producing upcoming feature The Rover.

He previously spent eight years at Universal Studios Motion Picture Group, most recently as senior VP of digital platforms.

Jack Herrguth joins after stints at Comedy Central and CBS, with credits including developing a pilot at the former for Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick, plus spent on Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother for the Eye.

The firm, bought out by Legendary Entertainment two years ago, has also added Fullscreen digital media strategies Chris Michael as director of audience development and promoted Brian Walton to editor in chief of Nerdist.com.
