Nelvana joins Kids Futures

CONTENT LONDON: The recently appointed head of development at Canada’s Nelvana has joined the line-up for C21’s Kids Content Futures conference in London on November 29.

Athena Georgaklis leads the acquisition of rights and the development of all original content for Nelvana, working with the studio’s producers, creators, and talent around the world.

She began the role last month, having previously being responsible for all original productions for Canadian kids channel Teletoon.

Nelvana’s programming, which includes Ranger Rob and Mike the Knight, airs on its parent company Corus Entertainment’s kids channels in Canada and in over 160 countries around the world.

During her 19 years in Canadian broadcast and production, Georgaklis has led the production and development of shows such as Johnny Test, Camp Lakebottom, Mysticons, Counterfeit Cat, Atomic Puppet, Rocket Monkeys and the Total Drama Island franchise.

Kids Content Futures takes place at Picturehouse Central in London’s West End as part of this year’s Content London, with the venue opening for registration and the opening-night party on November 28. You can find out more about the event and register online by clicking here.
