Nelvana helps to bring out Best & Bester

Best & Bester was created by Gigglebug’s Joonas Utti and Anttu Harlin

Toronto-based Nelvana has boarded Nickelodeon International animated comedy series Best & Bester, from London-based Eye Present and Finnish studio Gigglebug Entertainment.

Created by Gigglebug’s Joonas Utti and Anttu Harlin, the 52×11′ series is currently in production and is set for delivery in 2022.

The show follows two siblings and best friends obsessed with comparing the best things of all time while enjoying the power to transform themselves into whatever they want.

As a result of Corus Entertainment-owned Nelvana joining as a coproducer with Gigglebug Entertainment and Eye Present, the series will also air on a Corus kids’ network in Canada, which will be confirmed at a later date.

Nelvana will handle international distribution, excluding the UK and the Nordics, where the rights are retained by Eye Present and Gigglebug Entertainment respectively.

Gigglebug has already secured distribution deals with a raft of national public broadcasters in the Nordics, with YLE in Finland, DR in Denmark and NRK in Norway all attached to the project.
